Who Is Jesus?
The Story at the Center of Our Faith
At New Stanton Assembly of God, Jesus isn’t simply one part of what we believe. He is at the center of everything we do.
The Bible tells us that more than 2,000 years ago, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus became fully human and showed us what God is like through His life, His love, His compassion, and His truth. He welcomed people who were hurting, forgave sins, healed the sick, and invited people to follow Him into a new way of life.
Why Did Jesus Come?
The Bible teaches that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s design for our lives. Sin separates us from God, but God didn’t leave us without hope.
Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins. He died in our place, taking the punishment we deserved. But the story didn’t end at the cross. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead.
Because Jesus is alive, forgiveness and new life are available to everyone who puts their trust in Him.
What Does It Mean to Follow Jesus?
Following Jesus isn’t about simply becoming a better person or checking the right religious boxes. It’s about knowing Him, trusting Him, and allowing Him to lead your life.
Jesus calls us to turn from our old way of living, receive His forgiveness, and follow Him. He offers a new life marked by grace, purpose, relationship with God, and the hope of eternity.
Ready to Follow Jesus?
If you’re ready to put your trust in Jesus, you can begin with a simple prayer. The words themselves don’t save us. What matters is sincerely placing your faith in Jesus and surrendering your life to Him.
A Simple Prayer
“God, thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to die for my sins. I choose to put my trust in Jesus and make Him the Lord of my life. Help me to follow You, live for You, and become the person You created me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
